Fees are indicative and depend on subject, paper length and whether marking is required. Contact us for current availability. The fee covers the examination service only (invigilation, materials and marking). Where a mock supports a UCAS prediction, the predicted grade and reference themselves are free.

Applying to University
Mock exams for UCAS predicted grades
If you are applying to university as a private candidate, your UCAS centre needs recent, verifiable evidence of your academic standard before it can enter predicted grades and write your reference.
Our invigilated mock examinations provide that evidence. You sit full papers under exam conditions; we mark them and give you written feedback. As your registered UCAS centre, we then use those results, alongside any coursework, prior results and tutor input, to determine your predicted grades.
The predicted grades and the UCAS reference themselves are free of charge. The fee covers only the mock examination service: invigilation, materials and marking. You are paying to sit a paper and have it marked, exactly as any student booking a mock exam, not for the prediction.
To apply to university through Ark Education and receive predicted grades from us, you need to be registered to sit your examinations at our centre. If you only want to check your current grade level or build exam-day confidence, you can book a mock exam on its own, with no exam registration needed.
If you already have other recent evidence of your standard, contact us first. Mock exams are the most common route to a reliable prediction, but they are not the only one.
Timing. For the 15 October UCAS deadline (Oxford, Cambridge, Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary), complete your mocks by 30 September. For the January UCAS deadline, complete them by 30 November so there is time to mark the papers and prepare your prediction and reference.

Mock exams are available for most GCSE and A Level subjects. Contact us with your subject and awarding body to confirm availability and schedule your session.
No. As a UCAS centre we cannot charge for predicted grades or for references. They are provided free of charge. What we charge for is the mock examination service: sitting invigilated papers and having them marked. Those results give us the evidence to determine a prediction.
We recommend at least one full paper per subject you are applying with, sat under exam conditions. More papers give a more reliable basis for a prediction. If you already have other recent evidence of your standard, contact us to discuss what is needed.
Yes. For Ark Education to act as your UCAS centre and provide predicted grades and a reference, you need to be registered to sit your examinations with us. A mock exam booked on its own, to check your level or build confidence, does not require exam registration.
We can provide past papers for most subjects. If you have specific materials you prefer to use, you can bring them — we will invigilate using any JCQ-compliant paper.
Yes. If you have approved access arrangements (extra time, reader, scribe etc.) we can apply them to your mock exam. Please inform us when booking.
We recommend booking at least 2–3 weeks in advance, and earlier in the weeks before the summer or November exam series when demand is highest.
